GPAC Indoor Track and Field athletes of the week

The Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) has announced the men’s indoor track & field athletes-of-the-week

Field Events – Braden Kalvelage, Northwestern College

Braden Kalvelage from Northwestern College is this week’s field athlete-of-the-week. Kalvelage, a junior from Hastings, Nebraska, won the long jump at the SDSU Holiday Invitational, hitting the “A” standard with a 7.42m leap, with the next closest competitor at 7.07m. It was his 12th career win in the long jump. He also ran in the 200m, finishing fifth as the top NAIA finisher.

Track Events – Isaac Davelaar, Dordt University

Dordt University’s Isaac Davelaar is this week’s track athlete-of-the-week. Daelaar, a sophomore, from Sioux Falls, South Dakota, began the indoor season with a pair of first place finishes for the Defenders. He won the 600m with a personal-best time of 1:18.01, hitting the “A” standard with the fastest time currently in the NAIA. Davelaar’s time is the second fastest all-time in program history. He later anchored the Defenders 4×400 relay to a first-place finish, running a 47 split to help his team win the title.
