Drew Dykstra of Northwestern College is this week’s GPAC baseball pitcher-of-the-week. Dykstra, a junior from Urbandale, Iowa, threw a complete-game shutout on Saturday in a 1-0 win over Dordt. He struck out eight batters on the day while allowing just one hit. He is currently the GPAC leader in strikeouts with 74 this season.
“Drew has been lights out this year and has had many great outings,” head coach Brian Wede stated. “This one was especially good, throwing only 69 pitches in the complete game. We really needed this outing from him, helping us to the 1-0 win.”
Dykstra is the third Raider baseball player to earn a GPAC weekly honor this season, joining Brad Tornow and Luke Wroblewski from March 12.
