Dordt, Northwestern Stick Out in GPAC Soccer All-Conference Awards

The Great Plains Athletic Conference announced its 2025 All-Conference soccer teams Thursday, with Dordt University and Northwestern College earning major individual awards and a strong presence across both the men’s and women’s lists.

WOMEN’S SOCCER

Dordt senior Karinna Tel was named the GPAC Offensive Player of the Year, earning a First Team All-GPAC honor after a standout season leading the Defenders’ attack. Tel has become one of the program’s most decorated players in recent years.

Dordt also placed senior defender Abby Worthy and sophomore midfielder Maria Zylstra on the Second Team, with five additional Defenders earning honorable mention.

Northwestern’s representation was led by junior forward Aliza Edwards, who earned First Team All-GPAC after anchoring the Red Raiders’ front line. Two more Raiders, Mya Cole and Lucy Staines, earned honorable mention.

MEN’S SOCCER

Northwestern head coach Dan Swier was voted GPAC Men’s Soccer Coach of the Year, leading a strong Red Raider season recognized by four First Team selections. Those included forward Drew Darnold, midfielder Jannes Kuehn, defender Gorka Ilundain, and goalkeeper Edoardo Alessandrini. Additional Second Team honors went to midfielders Diego Quintero and Juan Miranda, and freshman defender Ben Nederpel.

Dordt earned three Honorable Mention selections on the men’s side: defenders Anton Forsch, Levi Jaeger, and Julian Janssen, reflecting a defensive unit that impressed coaches around the conference.
