Carter Named Player of the Week by GPAC after two interceptions

SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Northwestern College defensive back Jordan Carter has been selected as the GPAC Defensive Player of the Week, presented by Hauff Mid-America Sports. It is the first time in his career that he has earned a GPAC weekly honor.

“Jordan has made big plays in some big moments. He can be an elite defender,” head coach Matt McCarty commented. “It is fun to see him compete with confidence.”

Carter had a pick-six, opening the scoring for the Raiders on Saturday, and intercepted a ball in the end zone, securing Northwestern’s 14-13 win over No. 4 Morningside. He now has two interception returns for touchdowns on the year.

Northwestern has had a GPAC Defensive Player of the Week in back-to-back weeks after Jackson Smythe earned the honor last week.

The Raiders have a bye this week before traveling to Midland next week.
