The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Sioux Center woman while investigating a car crash ten miles west of Sioux Center early Monday morning. 21-year-old Alexis Trejo of Sioux Center was arrested after she lost control of the Chevrolet Malibu she was driving and ended up in the ditch.
Trejo was taken to Sioux Center Health for treatment of minor injuries. The Malibu she was driving sustained approximately $25,000 in damage.
Deputies suspected Trejo was under the influence of alcohol, and upon her release from medical care, she was taken to the Sioux County Jail and charged with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated and operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license. Additionally, she was cited for registration violation, fraudulent use of registration, failure to maintain control of a motor vehicle and failure to provide proof of financial liability (no proof of insurance).
