Sheriff’s Office Seeks Ford F-150 After Object Shatters Pickup Windshield Near Orange City

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office is seeking information after an object thrown from a vehicle shattered the windshield of another pickup west of Orange City Tuesday night.

The incident was reported at approximately 9:17 p.m. near the intersection of 450th Street and Hickory Avenue, about three miles west of Orange City.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, 18-year-old Christopher Kieffer of Rapid City, South Dakota, was driving a 2019 Ram 1500 eastbound on 450th Street when an object was thrown from another vehicle. The object struck Kieffer’s pickup and shattered its windshield.

Kieffer was assessed by the Orange City Ambulance for injuries. Two passengers in the Ram were transported to the Orange City hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

The Sheriff’s Office estimated the damage to the Ram at approximately $1,000.

Investigators are looking for an unknown Ford F-150 in connection with the incident. Anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of the pickup is asked to contact the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office at 712-737-3307. Information may also be submitted through the Sheriff’s Office Text-A-Tip program.

The Orange City Ambulance assisted the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office at the scene.
