Sheriff Asks For Public’s Help in Hit-and-Run

The Sioux County Sheriff’s Office is asking for the public’s help in a hit-and-run accident that happened Thursday evening on Eagle Avenue, four miles northwest of Ireton.

78-year-old Donald Mulder of Ireton was driving a Chevy Silverado pickup southbound on Eagle Avenue, when an unknown make or model white pickup traveling southbound, crossed the center of the roadway, striking Mulder. The white pickup continued without reporting the accident and did not return to the accident location.

Mulder reported minor injuries and declined further medical attention.

The Chevrolet sustained approximately $1,200 in damage.
