Seasons Center for Behavioral Health will host a free, family-friendly carnival on Thursday, April 23rd, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at Kinsey Elementary School in Sioux Center. The event is open to the public and will feature inflatables, face painting, games, and prizes.
Stephanie Pohar, Vice President of Marketing and Fund Development at Seasons Center, says events like this serve a purpose beyond just entertainment.
April is recognized nationally as Child Abuse Prevention Month, a time focused on strengthening families and connecting communities with resources that can help prevent abuse and neglect. Pohar says creating a relaxed, welcoming environment helps make those conversations easier to have.

She says the goal is to educate families on what to watch for and to make sure people understand that help is available and accessible if they need it. Seasons Center offers therapy services for both children and adults, helping families on both sides of those situations.
While the focus includes awareness and education, organizers say the event is ultimately designed to be an enjoyable experience for families across the area.
