(KIWA Radio) — According to the Orange City Police Department, officers arrested 35-year-old Stephanie Sue Hardy of Remsen on Thursday evening after conducting a traffic stop.

Police say officers believed Hardy was operating a motor vehicle while her driver’s license was suspended and without the required SR-22 insurance coverage.

Methamphetamine Allegedly Located

During the stop, officers searched Hardy’s vehicle and allegedly located a small glass vial containing a crystal-like substance.

Authorities say the substance field-tested positive for methamphetamine.

Hardy was taken into custody and charged with possession of a controlled substance, third or subsequent offense, a Class D felony. If convicted, she could face up to five years in prison.

She also faces misdemeanor charges of driving while suspended and failure to maintain SR-22 insurance.

Following her arrest, Hardy was booked into the Sioux County Jail.

Court records indicate she was later released on bond the same day.
