A juvenile was injured in a pedestrian-related crash in Orange City on Monday afternoon.
According to the Orange City Police Department, officers were called to the intersection of Florida Avenue and 2nd Street Southeast at about 4:56 p.m. for a motor vehicle accident involving a pedestrian.
Authorities say a 2016 Ford Explorer, driven by 21-year-old Ana Maria Lopez Lopez of Orange City, struck a juvenile female who was riding an electric scooter and crossing the roadway in a crosswalk.
The juvenile was transported by Orange City EMS to Orange City Area Health System for evaluation. Her condition has not been released.
Police say the Ford Explorer sustained approximately $500 in damage.
Lopez Lopez was cited for No Valid Driver’s License.
The Orange City Police Department was assisted at the scene by Orange City Ambulance.
