New Non-Profit in Northwest Iowa Aims to Support Mothers in Need

A new non-profit in Northwest Iowa is stepping up to support mothers and their babies by providing much-needed essentials. Northwest Iowa Baby Shower is driven by a group of women passionate about filling critical resource gaps for families in need.

They discovered that essential items like diapers, formula, and baby clothing were often out of reach for struggling mothers. Lisa Doleman is one of the founding members as well. She says these needs are not met by other programs:

Their efforts include assembling care packages with essentials—such as diapers, wipes, bottles, and even handmade baby blankets. They’ve also partnered with Justice for All to collect baby clothing and gently used equipment like strollers and pack-and-plays. Lisa went on to talk about maximizing monetary donations as well:

The Culver’s Share Day is today (3/18/25). The distribution day, the Community Baby Shower, will be held at the Former 2nd Appearance Store in downtown Sioux Center.
