A Sioux Center man facing dozens of child exploitation charges is now accused of sharing explicit images of others without consent.
According to the Sioux County Sheriff’s Office, 19-year-old Gavyn Dibbet was charged Wednesday, Dec. 3, with four additional counts of Harassment in the 1st Degree. Investigators say the new charges stem from evidence that he disseminated explicit photos of individuals who did not consent to their release.
Dibbet remains held at the Sioux County Jail, where he has been incarcerated since his arrest on Nov. 24. Deputies say he had received, possessed, and distributed multiple files of child sexual abuse material uploaded from a rural residence near Sioux Center.
No children connected to a nearby daycare were identified as victims, according to the sheriff’s office.
Total Charges Now Filed Against Dibbet:
38 counts — Possession of a Depiction of a Minor in a Sex Act
16 counts — Sexual Exploitation of a Minor – Promoting Film
6 counts — Harassment in the 1st Degree
(two original counts + four new counts)
The Sioux Center Police Department assisted with the investigation.
