Man Who was Living in Rock Valley Pleads Guilty to Illegally Re-Entering the U.S.

A man who illegally re-entered the U.S from Guatemala has pleaded guilty to the charge in U.S. District Court in Sioux City.

Prosecutors say 63-year-old Rigoberto Hernandez-Corado of Rock Valley had been previously removed from the U.S on August 3rd, 2018. He was convicted in Sioux County in 2024 of domestic abuse assault, first offense, with a dangerous weapon.

Hernandez-Corado was found in the Sioux County jail on January 13th, 2026, where he was being held on a probation violation stemming from the 2024 sentence. Officials determined Hernandez-Corado was a citizen of Guatemala.

He remains held in the custody of federal authorities pending sentencing.
