Work on Hull’s 2026 Division Street Reconstruction Project is moving north following the completion of sanitary sewer service installation.

According to the city’s latest construction update, crews have also connected the new water main to the existing main at Second Street. Water main installation is scheduled to continue north from Second Street this week.

The intersection of Division and Fifth streets is expected to remain open until the water main work reaches that location, which is anticipated around Friday, August 21.

Temporary water lines have been extended along the sidewalk to individual residences in the construction area. Residents and pedestrians are being asked to use caution to avoid tripping over those lines.

The city is also reminding people who park along nearby side streets to avoid blocking mailboxes.

Utility service installation is expected to begin soon.

Bainbridge Construction will continue assisting residents with waste collection while the road is closed.

Residents should place their waste containers in front of their homes by 7 a.m. on collection days. The contractor will move the containers to a nearby side road for collection and return them afterward.

Residents are asked not to retrieve the containers themselves because the contractor will return each one to its corresponding property.

The Division Street project includes the reconstruction of concrete pavement between Greenway Street and Fifth Street. The project also includes work on the roadway’s granular base and the replacement of sanitary sewer, storm sewer, and water utilities throughout the construction area.

The city said in a reply to its Facebook post that the project’s estimated completion date is September 18.
