Dordt University Partners with Sterling College on Social Work Program

Dordt University has joined forces with Sterling College to create an accelerated pathway for psychology students aiming to earn a Master of Social Work (MSW) degree. This partnership allows Sterling students to waive six credits in Dordt’s MSW program, saving them both time and money.

Joe Bakker, Dordt’s dean of online, graduate, and partner programs, says the collaboration enhances student access to vital training for careers in social work, counseling, and other service-oriented fields. Sterling College’s vice president of academic affairs, Dr. Ken Brown, celebrates the agreement, highlighting the clear pathway it provides for psychology graduates to seamlessly continue their education.

Rooted in Christian values, the program prepares future social workers to approach their profession with a focus on service, justice, and compassion. Brown emphasizes the high demand for social work professionals and the exciting opportunities this partnership creates for graduates.

Dordt’s MSW program holds accreditation from the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE) and is approved by the Higher Learning Commission.
