A new website designed to help visitors and residents explore Sioux Center is now live.
The Explore Sioux Center website brings together attractions, restaurants, shops, events, and destinations into one centralized, visitor-focused platform.
Communications Coordinator Maggie Landegent says the website is part of a broader effort to better showcase Sioux Center.
The website was briefly discussed at yesterday’s Sioux Center City Council meeting, where City Manager Scott Wynja said local businesses have sometimes struggled to keep track of when major events are happening in town, making it harder to plan. He says having one reliable, centralized source of information can help restaurants, hotels, and other destinations better prepare for busy weekends and large events.
Landegent says the improved communication benefits more than just people visiting Sioux Center.
Those who would like to have an event or destination included on the website can contact the Sioux Center city office to submit information.
The project was paid for in part by a $9,300 Iowa Tourism Grant and was developed with guidance from local tourism stakeholders across Sioux Center.
