A community benefit and silent auction is planned this week to support a Hospers firefighter who was injured during a training exercise.
The benefit for Phil Zeutenhorst will be held on Thursday, December 18, from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the Hospers Community Center. The evening will include burgers, steak sandwiches, and a silent auction, with all proceeds going directly to the Zeutenhorst family to help cover medical and travel expenses.
Zeutenhorst was injured during a training exercise with the Hospers Fire Department on Monday, November 24. In a public statement released the following day, the City of Hospers confirmed that two firefighters were injured during the exercise and asked the community to keep the department’s volunteer Fire and EMS members in their thoughts and prayers.
Zeutenhorst is currently receiving care at a burn center in Lincoln. For more information on the benefit and auction, visit the Community Calendar.
