Research looks at preventing phosphorus loss after applying manure

Manure is a valuable source of nutrients for the soil and future crops, but there are often nutrient losses after application.  Dr. Francisco Arriaga with the University of Wisconsin is studying phosphorus losses and ways to keep nutrients from washing away after a rain event based on timing and methods of manure application.
