Additional honors this week for the Dordt University women’s soccer team as Jenna Wright has earned the NAIA Women’s Soccer Defensive Player of the Week.
Wright is the first Dordt player to win the weekly national honor since Oct 6 in 2000.
Wright made a career-high 21 saves in leading the Defenders to 1-0 victory against 25th-ranked Benedictine (Kan.) last week
Wright’s 21 saves is the most recorded in a single match by a Dordt goalkeeper since 2006. The senior recorded her second shutout the season and eighth of her career. This was the fourth career match Wright recorded double-digit saves.
Wright ranks second in the GPAC with 27 saves this season
Dordt has a 3-1 record and will host Nebraska Wesleyan on Saturday, Sept. 14
