Makenna Walhof from Dordt University is this week’s GPAC Women’s field athlete-of-the-week. Walhof, a junior from Sioux Center, Iowa, hit two qualifying marks in her first meet of the outdoor season, the Wildcat Classic. On Friday, Walhof placed third in the hammer with a school-record mark of 55.35m, easily hitting the ‘A’ standard and is currently ranked No.1 in the NAIA. Walhof followed with a second-place finish on Saturday in the discus with a provisional mark that ranks first in the GPAC and No.5 in the NAIA.
