Northwestern College’s Jesse Van Kalsbeek has earned a clean sweep of this week’s awards, being named both the GPAC Offensive and Defensive Player of the Week and the NAIA National Offensive Player of the Week after a dominant stretch on the court.
The sophomore forward from Sheldon, Iowa, led the Raiders to three wins last week, averaging 31 points and 12.3 rebounds per game. He posted a double-double in each contest and poured in a career-high 44 points with 14 boards in a victory over Saint Francis, shooting 77 percent from the floor without attempting a three-pointer.
“Jesse has put in a lot of work to continue improving and growing his game,” said head coach Colton Kooima. “He has teammates around him who really trust and believe in him.”
Van Kalsbeek currently leads the GPAC and ranks third nationally in scoring at 33.3 points per game. His NAIA honor marks Northwestern’s first national player-of-the-week award since Alex Van Kalsbeek in January 2024.
