Jesse Van Kalsbeek of Northwestern College is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports men’s basketball offensive player-of-the-week. Van Kalsbeek, a sophomore from Sheldon, Iowa, posted two 30-point outings in a 2-0 week for Northwestern. He recorded double-doubles in both games, contributing 31 points and 10 boards in Wednesday’s win at Briar Cliff before scoring 36 points with 10 rebounds on Saturday at Mount Marty. Van Kalsbeek currently leads the NAIA in points per game (28.5) and is second in rebounding average (12.0).
