Van Kalsbeek Earns Second Team All-American Accolade

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Northwestern men’s basketball forward Alex Van Kalsbeek has been selected as a Second Team NAIA All-American, the national office announced today.

His third career All-American selection, Van Kalsbeek proved to be one of the top players in the country once again. Van Kalsbeek posted averages of 20.6 points, 7.3 rebounds, and 3.1 assists in his fourth year with the program. He also led the Raiders in points per game and posted a program record 52 points in January 15’s win over Midland.

“Alex is loved by his teammates, and they love to get him the ball,” head coach Kris Korver commented. “Alex came back from injury and had an outstanding season. He’s skilled, strong, and unselfish. He’s the focus of every opponents’ scouting report, and he plays with incredible poise and consistency.”

Van Kalsbeek is back in the All-American lineup after earning Third Team honors his freshman year and Second Team honors as a sophomore.
