SIOUX CITY, Iowa – The Northwestern football duo of Eli Stader (Special Teams) and Kole Telford (Defense) has been voted as GPAC Players of the Week.
Stader is this week’s GPAC football Special Teams Player-of-the-Week .Stader, a senior kicker/punter from Cedar Grove, Wisconsin, was effective and reliable in Northwestern’s 45-7 win at Waldorf on Saturday. He went 6-for-6 on PATs, also cashing in on a 33-yard field goal in the fourth quarter. Additionally, Stader punted the ball once for 42 yards, marking the ball inside the 20. On eight kickoffs, he landed three touchbacks.
Kole Telford, a senior defensive back from Rock Rapids, is this week’s GPAC football Defensive Player-of-the-Week. Telford, picked off two passes and had a pair of tackles in the win at Waldorf. One of his interceptions set up the Raiders in the red zone, as he had 12 yards on interception returns. Since switching from running back to corner last season, Telford has three interceptions and 100 tackles.
