SIOUX CITY, Iowa – Northwestern infielder Emily Strasser has been recognized as the GPAC Softball Player of the Week, the league office announced this morning.
In a six-game set last week, Strasser (Sr., Sioux Falls, S.D.) posted a .571 batting average, totaling 12 hits with 11 RBIs, four doubles, and a home run. In the field, the senior played second and first, boasting a perfect fielding percentage.
“I’m so happy for Strass as all the hard work this spring is paying off,” commented head coach Shane Bouman.
Strasser moved into the lead for RBIs among GPAC players last weekend, driving in 42 runs on the season.
