Schany named 3rd team All-American

KANSAS CITY, Mo. -Northwestern women’s basketball player Molly Schany has been selected as a Third Team NAIA All-American following the best season of her collegiate career.

The GPAC regular season leader in rebounds per game (8.4), Schany finished second in the GPAC in scoring (17.0) and field goal percentage (58.4%). A senior from Emmetsburg, Iowa, earns her first career All-American selection after being named an Honorable Mention in 2022*.

“It is a tremendous and much deserved honor for Molly,” head coach Kristin Rotert stated. “She has worked extremely hard this past year and played a vital role in our team’s success this season.”

On her way to All-American honors, Schany led the Raiders to an NAIA First Round win, scoring a career-high 34 points and grabbing 17 rebounds in a 79-76 win over No. 21 Rio Grande (Ohio). This season, she averaged career bests in scoring (17.3) and rebounding. (8.7), earning First Team All-GPAC honors.
