Sioux Center native Christian Rozeboom has signed a contract with the Carolina Panthers, according to NFL Network Insider, Ian Rapoport. In a tweet on X, Rapoport revealed that the deal is for one season.
The former Warrior started 11 games with the Los Angeles Rams last season. The 28-year-old Rozeboom notched 135 tackles, four pass deflections, one sack, and one interception.
He spent two stints with the Rams from 2020-2021 and from the end of the 2021 season through 2024. After being waived by Los Angeles in 2021 after training camp, he was claimed by Kansas City and made his NFL debut with the Chiefs in week seven of the 2021 season. The Rams claimed Rozeboom back after the Chiefs placed him on their practice squad, and he was part of the Los Angeles squad that won Super Bowl LVI.
After graduating from Sioux Center High School in 2015, Rozeboom started four years at linebacker for the South Dakota State Jackrabbits. During his tenure in Brookings, he received recognition as Missouri Valley Conference Freshman of the Year. He was also selected to the Missouri Valley All-Conference first team during all four years as a starter. He also finished as the all-time leading tackler in program history.
Rozeboom has racked up 235 career tackles, eight pass deflections, two interceptions, and one sack since entering the league in 2020. He joins a Carolina team that finished in a tie for third place in the NFC South last season. Rozeboom also joins Tampa Bay Buccaneers tight end and Sioux Center High School alumnus Ko Kieft in the division.
