Red Raiders land top-10 in NAIA WBCA team honor roll

ATLANTA, Ga. – The Northwestern College women’s basketball team took a top-10 finish in the NAIA of the 2022-23 Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) Honor Roll for their work in the classroom this past academic year.

The Red Raiders carried a team GPAC of 3.757 which sat in a tie for sixth-place in the NAIA for the year.

“I am incredibly proud of the effort our team demonstrated in the classroom this year,” noted head coach Kristin Rotert. “Their commitment to excellence on and off the court is praiseworthy.”

Northwestern was one of two Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) teams to be in the top-25. Hastings College finished second in the NAIA with a team GPA of 3.808.

The WBCA honor recognizes NCAA Division I, II, and III, NAIA, and two-year college women’s basketball teams across the nation that carry the highest combined GPAs inclusive of all student-athletes on their rosters for the entire season. The 2022-23 season marks the 28th in which the WBCA has compiled their honor rolls.

As a coaching association, only due-paying members are eligible to nominate and receive the award.
