Parker Fryar leaving Northwestern for USD

Northwestern college linebacker Parker Fryar, who was honored as a first team All-American, and the GPAC football defensive player of the year after last seasons national championship announced on Twitter Thursday that he is leaving the Northwestern football program for the University of South Dakota for his last two seasons of eligibility.

Fryar led the Red Raider defense that ranked nationally in multiple different statistical categories. He the team in tackles for the third-straight year with 120 tackles. That mark is third-most in program history for a single season. He also recorded 12 Tackles for loss, and 1.5 Sacks. He also recorded six pass break-ups, and two interceptions. Additionally, he sat tied for first on the team with two forced fumbles on the season.

Fryar thanked his friends, coaches, and teammates for a great 3 years at Northwestern.
