The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics has released its latest softball Top 25 poll, and Northwestern College remains in the national rankings.
The Red Raiders dropped one spot to No. 18 in the newest coaches poll after beginning the season 13–5 overall.
Northwestern has already picked up several notable wins early in the year, including victories over teams that appeared in the preseason rankings — Benedictine College, Saint Xavier University, and Indiana Wesleyan University.
The ranking marks the 19th consecutive NAIA Top 25 poll appearance for Northwestern, a streak that dates back to March 2023.
GPAC Representation
Northwestern is one of three teams from the Great Plains Athletic Conference appearing in the national rankings.
No. 18 – Northwestern (Iowa)
No. 19 – Midland University
Receiving Votes – Dordt University
Midland slipped to No. 19 in the poll, while Dordt sits just outside the rankings with 71 votes.
First-place votes in the poll were spread across six different programs, highlighting a competitive national field early in the season.
