Kameryn Etherington of Northwestern College is this week’s GPAC softball pitcher-of-the-week. Etherington, a senior from Algona, Iowa, struck out 14 batters on the week, going 3-0 in all three of her pitching appearances. In a complete-game shutout over Dakota Wesleyan on Friday, Etherington struck out 10 and only allowed three hits.
Tatum Schmalbeck of Northwestern College is this week’s GPAC softball player-of-the-week. Schmalbeck a, freshman from Sioux Center, Iowa, drove in six runs over four games, going 6-for-11 on the week for an average of .545. She was the difference-maker in a 3-0 win over Dakota Wesleyan on Friday, hitting a three-RBI double to give the Raiders the lead. She also had two RBIs in an 8-0 win over Mount Marty on Wednesday.
