KANSAS CITY, Mo. – For the tenth-straight poll, the Northwestern College football team is the No.1 ranked team in the NAIA Coaches’ Poll, taking all 18 first-place votes. The poll streak of being ranked inside the top-25 continues at a program-best 74-straight polls. Northwestern has now been ranked inside the top-5 for the 34th-straight poll.
The Red Raiders are one of four undefeated teams left in the NAIA this season, and just one of two with 10 wins (Evangel (Mo.)). Grand View (Iowa) and Indiana Wesleyan are the other undefeated teams.
It’s the second-straight week with a shake-up in the top-5 after a thrilling (3) Indiana Wesleyan/(4) Marian clash on Saturday and a Morningside loss to Dordt. Northwestern and Grand View continue to hold the top-2 spots, while Indiana Wesleyan (9-0) remains at No. 3. Keiser (Fla.) (7-2) and College of Idaho (8-1) move into the top-5 at No. 4 and No. 5, respectively.
In the GPAC, Dordt moves up six spots after their first-ever victory over Morningside. The Mustangs drop out of the top-10 after back-to-back losses, now at No. 12.
