Northwestern Football Fills Out Coaching Staff for 2025

ORANGE CITY, Iowa – Northwestern football head coach Matt McCarty has finalized the Red Raider coaching staff for the 2025 season.

After serving two seasons as a graduate assistant, Greg Will has been promoted to a full-time assistant coach role, working with the offensive line.

“Greg has done a great job leading our offensive line group as a graduate assistant,” head coach Matt McCarty stated. “I am looking forward to the continued growth of that group under his guidance.”

Will, a 2022 Associated Press (AP) First Team and NAIA Honorable Mention All-American helped the Red Raider offense that sat led the nation offensively: leading the nation in third-down conversion rate (55%) and rushing touchdowns (44), tied for second in passing touchdowns (38), sat third in scoring offense (43.7ppg), total yards (467.6ypg), ninth in rushing yards (208.1ypg), and 14th in passing yards (259.5ypg).

“It’s great to be able to continue working with the Raider football staff and the athletic department,” Will said. “I’m confident that Northwestern College is a great place to develop as a young coach, and I’m excited to learn from a well-respected staff. I’m eager to continue working with the offensive line group to help them grow and develop both on and off the football field.”

Will is a 2023 Northwestern graduate with a degree in criminal justice.

Cody Moser has been hired as an assistant coach, working primarily with the defensive secondary. He will begin his role in June.

“Cody has been an outstanding leader and has a great understanding of how we play in the secondary,” McCarty added. “I look forward to working alongside him in this role.”

A two-time NAIA All-American and two-time All-GPAC First Team selection, Moser was a leader on the Red Raider defense, picking off 16 passes and collecting 93 tackles in a Northwestern uniform. His interception total sits ninth in program history, and he led the NAIA in interceptions with 10 in his junior season.

“I am very blessed to continue to be involved with Northwestern football,” Moser stated. “I am excited to work alongside great coaches and players here at Northwestern!”

Moser completed his degree in elementary education from Northwestern in December 2024.
