Northwestern #7 in NAIA Softball poll

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – After picking up their 30th win of the year last weekend, the Red Raider softball team held firm at No. 7 in the third NAIA Coaches Poll, presented by Netting Professionals.

Northwestern boasts a 30-5 overall record with a 10-0 mark in the GPAC, leading the conference with 12 GPAC matchups remaining.

Since their 13-game winning streak began on March 8, the Raiders are hitting .320 and are outscoring opponents 90-36. Gwen Mikkelsen (.434) and Chloe Gallegos (.415) both sit in the top 10 in the GPAC in batting average, and Mikkelsen is second in the league in RBIs (39). In the circle, reigning GPAC Pitcher of the Week Kate Kralik leads the conference in wins (15), is second in strikeouts (100), and is third in ERA (1.99).

The top five remained the same with Southern Oregon in the top spot, followed by Oregon Tech, Science & Arts (Okla.), Cumberlands (Ky.), and Oklahoma City.
