On Saturday, September 20, the NCC Thunder Soccer teams traveled to Southeastern Community College, IA, for an action-packed doubleheader. NCC took on a tough opponent, with the men facing a nationally ranked SCC squad and the women battling hard in their matchup as well.
Women’s Soccer
Final: Southeastern 4, NCC 3
The Thunder Women started off hot on the road, striking early and taking a 2–0 lead behind first-half goals from Yuri Ramirez and Kayla Anderson. Southeastern pulled one back just before halftime to make it 2–1. Coming out of the break, Southeastern found two quick goals to surge ahead 4–2. Ramirez netted her second goal late to cut the deficit to 4–3, but NCC couldn’t find the equalizer as time expired.

Men’s Soccer
Final: Southeastern 8, NCC 0
The NCC Men battled nationally ranked Southeastern CC in a back-and-forth first half, trailing just 1–0 at halftime. In the second half, Southeastern’s attack exploded, scoring seven times to hand the Thunder their first shutout loss of the season.
