Northwestern College middle blocker Zavry Metzger is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Defender-of-the-Week. Metzger, a senior from Larchwood, Iowa, helped the Raiders to a 4-0 weekend at the Siouxland Invitational, boosting the Raiders on both the offensive and defensive side. In the season opener against Spartanburg Methodist, Metzger tallied a career-high 11 kills and had five blocks. Against VCSU on Friday night, she added nine blocks and 10 kills. On the weekend, Metzger had 35 kills at 2.33 per set and 30 blocks at 2.00 per set.
