Dordt University’s Payton Mauldin is this week’s track athlete-of-the-week. Mauldin, a senior from George, Iowa, hit the ‘A’ standard in two events at the Wayne State Wildcat Classic, winning the 400m with a school-record and meet record time of 46.69. His time is the No.1 time in the NAIA. Mauldin was also part of a Defenders 4×100 relay that took first and hit the NAIA ‘A’ standard with a time of 40.96, 10th fastest in the NAIA. Mauldin also recorded a second-place finish in the 200m (22.08).
