Dordt University’s Payton Mauldin is this week’s track athlete-of-the-week. Mauldin, a senior, from George, Iowa, hit the ‘A’ standard in two events at the Jim Emmerich Invite last weekend in Brookings South Dakota. Running against NCAA D-I and D-II competition, Mauldin finished second to an unattached runner in the 800m with a time of 1:51.03, a time that is the second fastest in the NAIA this season trailing only his own time from December.
