Dordt’s Sievers and Northwestern’s Van Kalsbeek Highlight GPAC Basketball Honors

Dordt and Northwestern are well represented on the 2025-26 Great Plains Athletic Conference basketball all-conference teams released on Wednesday.

Women’s Honors

Dordt senior guard Macy Sievers has been named the GPAC Player of the Year after leading the Defenders to another standout season.

Sievers was also named to the All-GPAC First Team, joined by teammate Gracie Schoonhoven, a junior guard from Hospers.

Dordt junior guard Willow Bleeker earned Second Team All-GPAC honors.

Northwestern also placed two players on the second team, with Allison Piercy and Ashtyn Wobig receiving all-conference recognition.

In addition to Sievers being named Player of the Year, Dordt head coach Bill Harmsen was selected as the GPAC Coach of the Year.

Other major conference honors went to Avery Broughton of Dakota Wesleyan, who was named Defensive Player of the Year, and Abby Lee of Briar Cliff, the conference Freshman of the Year.

Men’s Honors

On the men’s side, Northwestern sophomore forward Jesse Van Kalsbeek was named the GPAC Player of the Year after a standout season for the Red Raiders.

Van Kalsbeek also earned First Team All-GPAC honors alongside teammate Jalen Langsy.

Dordt junior guard Connor Millikan was also named to the first team, while Defenders senior Ty Van Essen earned Second Team All-GPAC recognition.

Northwestern’s Manny Hammonds and Kaleb Booth were named honorable mention selections, along with Dordt’s Jake Proctor and Judson Henkel.

Other major awards on the men’s side included Co-Defensive Players of the Year Wil Lugar of Briar Cliff and Fitzy Grant of Morningside, Freshman of the Year Kaden Van Regenmorter of Morningside, and Coach of the Year Trent Miller of Morningside.
