The Heart of America Athletic Association and NAIA has announced its men’s volleyball Players of the Week and Dordt’s Colt Schmidt (Freshman; Palmdale, California) has been named the Defensive Player of the Week.

His play included a season high 22 digs in a win 3-1 win over Hastings on Saturday morning, February 7 and he averaged at least four digs per set in each match.
“Colt had a great weekend leading us defensively in protecting our court. He’s had a strong start to this season with his read on the ball and understanding our system. This Heart of America honor is greatly appreciated,” said Dordt coach Chad Hanson.
“To be recognized with the NAIA honor is an incredible blessing for Colt and our program. He knows the game at a high level and continues to absorb himself into our system.”
