Dordt University’s Craig Becker is this week’s GPAC Men’s track athlete-of-the-week. Becker, a junior, from Atlantic, Iowa, hit the ‘A’ standard in two events at the SDSU Indoor Classic, the final tune-up prior to the GPAC Championship. On Friday night, Becker ran the 1600m anchor on the Defenders winning distance medley team that hit the ‘A’ standard (10:03.5) and is the No.6 time in the NAIA. The Defenders time ranks second all-time in the history of the program. Becker then followed with an outstanding race in the 1000m where he finished with the No.1 time in the NAIA and a school record time 2:25.12.
