Dordt University Libero Robert Piekarz is this week’s GPAC/Hauff Mid-America Sports Volleyball Defender-of-the-Week. Piekarz, a junior from Warsaw, Poland, finished with 38 digs in a pair of matches. He averaged 5.43 digs per set and also added three service aces for the Defenders in a four-set loss to Kansas Wesleyan on Friday and a sweep of Central Christian on Saturday. The Defenders are 3-7 on the season and are back in action this coming Saturday in LaCrosse, Wisconsin, against Olivet Nazarene and host Viterbo.
