Dordt Expected to Control GPAC Cross Country Again

Dordt University has been picked by the Great Plains Athletic Conference coaches to repeat as both women’s and men’s cross country champions this fall.  Coaches are not allowed to vote for their own team and the Defenders nearly swept all of the remaining first place votes.

The Dordt women racked up 11 of the 12 first place nods with the other top vote going to Hastings which was picked third overall.  The coaches picked the Concordia women second and Northwestern was picked fourth in the women’s race.

The Defender men grabbed 9 of 11 first place votes with one vote going to Concordia which was picked second and the other to Doane which was picked third.  Like the women, the Northwestern men were also projected to finish fourth.

The 2023 GPAC Cross Country Championships are slated for Saturday, November 4th in North Sioux City, South Dakota at Adams Nature Preserve.  Briar Cliff will serve as the host.
