Dordt Women’s Soccer advances to GPAC semifinals with 2–0 quarterfinal win

Dordt is headed back to the GPAC semifinals for the third straight year after a 2–0 win over Doane Tuesday night at the Defender Soccer Complex. The Defenders (10-5-3) controlled the match throughout, holding a 17–11 shot advantage and earning all six corner kicks.

Maria Zylstra opened the scoring in the 22nd minute off an assist from Karinna Tel. Tel—the GPAC’s leading scorer—added her 23rd goal of the season in the 52nd minute, marking her fifth straight match with a score. Goalkeeper Lydia Zylstra made eight saves to secure her seventh shutout of the year.

No. 4 seed Dordt will host No. 8 seed Mount Marty in the GPAC semifinals on Saturday at 5:00 p.m. Mount Marty advanced after upsetting top-seeded Morningside in penalty kicks.
