(Sioux City, Iowa) –Doane University totaled 211 points in the preseason poll and is picked to win the 2025-26 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Men’s Wrestling Championship. The Tigers won the GPAC regular season and tournament titles last year.
Morningside is picked second this year with 146 points, while Concordia is third with 135.
Northwestern was picked fourth in the GPAC Men’s Wrestling Preseason Poll.
Northwestern returns national qualifier and all-conference placer Noah Parmelee, who wrestled at 141 last season, to the mat this year. Sophomore Kane Butrick led Northwestern with 272 match points and was second with 17 wins, wrestling at 133. Carter Peterson and Thomas Vance are also back after leading the Raiders with six falls each in 2024-25. Last season, head coach Rik Dahl became Northwestern’s all-time leader in duals wins, entering the year with 102 team wins in 17 seasons.
The 2026 GPAC Men’s Wresting Championship will be on February 20-21 at Northwestern. GPAC men’s wrestling will also have regular season duals this year, with duals days scheduled for November 25 at Morningside and February 7 at Doane. Each member school will wrestle in a single round robin with a regular season champion crowned in conjunction with the tournament title.
