(Sioux City, Iowa) – Concordia University totaled 98 points and is the preseason coaches’ selection to win the 2023 Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) Baseball Championship. The Bulldogs garnered eight first place votes as the top selection. The other three first place votes went to Doane University who is picked second with 91 points.
Mount Marty and Jamestown each had 74 points in tie at third place. Morningside rounded out the top five with 59 points after a vote of league coaches before the season started. Coming off a 22-27 (12-16 GPAC) record and a berth to the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) tournament a season ago, the Northwestern College baseball team was predicted to finish seventh
In 2022, Doane was the regular season champions in the GPAC4. The regular season runner-up, Concordia, won the GPAC Tournament Championship over Jamestown.
