Northwest Iowa is once again well represented on the Iowa Print Sports Writers Association Boys All-State Basketball Teams, highlighted by a Player of the Year honor for Unity Christian’s Dylan Bosma.
Bosma, a senior, was named the Class 2A Player of the Year after leading the Knights to a state championship. He averaged 18.0 points per game while shooting 46.3% from the field and 41% from three-point range. Bosma also totaled 96 made three-pointers this season, the third-most in the state, while adding 3.8 assists, 3.7 rebounds, and 2.0 steals per game.
Elsewhere in northwest Iowa, Storm Lake’s Jaidyn Coon was named the state’s Mr. Basketball, recognizing the top overall player across all classes. He averaged nearly a double-double for the season, scoring 22 points per game and snatching 9.3 rebounds per contest.
Unity Christian placed two players on the Class 2A First Team, with junior Tyce Van Donge also earning first-team honors.
Western Christian was also well represented in Class 2A, as sophomore Tayden Moret earned First Team All-State honors, while teammate Landon De Stigter was named to the Third Team.
Hinton’s Logan Kempema was also recognized in Class 2A, earning Third Team All-State honors.
In Class 1A, Boyden-Hull and MMCRU both landed multiple players on the all-state lists. Boyden-Hull senior Carter Kleinwolterink was named to the Second Team, while teammate Garrett Van Es earned Third Team honors.
MMCRU senior Kamden Bork was a First Team selection in Class 1A, while teammate Wyatt Alesch was named to the Third Team.
South O’Brien was also represented in Class 1A, with senior Jaden Kreber earning Second Team honors.
The all-state honors continue a strong tradition of success for Northwest Iowa programs, particularly in Class 2A, where Unity Christian captured the state title and placed multiple players among the state’s top performers.
