ORANGE CITY, Iowa – Northwestern College football head coach Matt McCarty has announced the 2024 schedule following a 14-1 season in 2023.
The Raiders enter next season after a successful 2023 that saw them claim the GPAC title and advance to the NAIA Championship game for the third time in four seasons. Along the way, Northwestern went 11-0 in the regular season, sweeping conference opponents and defeating NCAA Division I Drake. All games in the 2024 regular season will be against GPAC foes.
“We have a great group returning in 2024,” McCarty said. “They have been working hard and look forward to the challenge of building on the tradition of excellence in Raider football.”
Northwestern begins its season on the road for the fifth consecutive season, meeting Hastings on September 7 to kick off the year.
Then, takes home field for two weeks in a row, hosting Mount Marty and Midland in weeks two and three, respectively.
After one week away at Doane on September 28, Northwestern will welcome Concordia (Neb.) on October 5 for the annual Raider Nation Celebration.
Following the bye week, the Raiders are set to head to Forest City, Iowa to play at GPAC newcomer Waldorf. It will then be Dakota Wesleyan coming to Orange City on October 26.
Finally, the Raiders will close out their season with two NAIA FCS qualifiers from a year ago, becoming road warriors at Morningside and Dordt on November 2 and 9. The regular season will conclude at home against Briar Cliff on November 16.
“The GPAC continues to be strong from top to bottom, and we are excited about competing in one of the strongest conferences in the NAIA,” McCarty concluded.
All games, except for October 5’s homecoming date, will kick off at 1:00 p.m.
