West Sioux Faces Changes Ahead of Next School Year

As we near the end of June, the West Sioux School District is already looking ahead to the upcoming school year.

Construction projects at the district’s elementary schools in Hawarden and Ireton are continuing, but West Sioux School Board President Larry Gregg says the additions are nearing completion.

There will also be several staff changes in the district this fall, including a new superintendent.

West Sioux has shared Superintendent Steve Grond with the Boyden-Hull School District for several years, and Gregg says he appreciates the work Grond has done at West Sioux.

Following a search, the board selected Kurt Hanna as the district’s next superintendent.

The district will also have a new middle and high school principal after Alynn Coppock was named superintendent of the Riverside Community School District.

The district is also searching for an elementary assistant principal. You can listen to the full interview with Gregg here.
