The West Sioux Community School District is continuing its search for a new superintendent who would take over the position on July 1st, 2026.
Current superintendent Steve Grond, who is shared between West Sioux and Boyden-Hull, says the move comes as he begins planning for retirement and looks to reduce his workload.
Grond says he will return to Boyden-Hull as full-time superintendent beginning in the 2026-27 school year and expects to fully retire within the next two to four years.
The West Sioux school board selected Grundmeyer Leadership Services, an Iowa-based superintendent search firm, to lead the hiring process. Applications are due February 1st, with interviews expected later in February and a hire hoped for by the end of the month.
Grond says West Sioux is well-positioned for its next leader following recent facility upgrades and long-term planning.
